I think the earliest a puppy can start injections is at 10 weeks old. Then its 3 weeks to have the injections and for them to become effective.
The puppy should be fine in the garden as long as it is not visited by other dogs
You should carry him while taking him anywhere else though

The age a puppy can start its injections depends on the protocol the vet follows. The common age to start is 8 weeks with the second at 12 weeks although some now start as early as 6 weeks and some vets as late as 10 or 11 weeks for the first jab.
I would be taking the puppy into the garden as long as the garden is secure and is not used by other dogs. I would also be carrying the puppy elsewhere so she begins to get used to traffic noise, other people etc.

Hi there
My Cav pup had his 1st injection (with his breeder) at 7wks, and he's recently had his 2nd at 10 wks.
My vet told me he can go out 2 wks after that, does this seem right?
Thanks
Shell
my 3 dogs had there jabs at 10 weeks then again at 12 weeks, they where aloud out a week later depends on your vet, also depends where you live im sure.

Hi,
Two weeks after the second jab is about right. The timing of the first depends on many factors - when the pup left its mother (the vaccination won't 'take' if the pup still has a high level of maternal antibodies in its system), the particular make of vaccine, and the level of infection in your area.
Hope this helps.

My puppies have all been done at 8 weeks and the next one is due at 10 weeks and theycan go out one week after that, this is the information from my vet. They have all been out and about in the garden since they were 6weeks old, only my own dogs have had contact with them and the garden.

hi there,
it depends on breed and vets i think...
we have a cav pup who will be having her 1st jab at 8 weeks then 2nd at 10 weeks..
the vet said it is fine for her to go in the garden aslong as no other dogs have acsess (exept for our other cavi)
I agree with Joan, I took my pups everywhere with me from the day I got them home, just carried them. This makes sure they are exposed to all kinds of situations early on and socialises them very well.
