Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / My bullmastiff going mental at the t.v!
- By leeredkane [gb] Date 05.08.03 09:58 UTC
hi there just wondering if anyone has a similiar problem or if anyone can give me some advice. My 5 year old male bullmastiff has just started to go for the t.v anytime there is an animal on it.It doesn't matter whether it is an insect or a lion he still goes mental!.He has only just started doing it the last few weeks and every time he does it i tell him off and put him outside for a bit.Only for him to come back in and go for the t.v again(if there is an animal on there).

If my dogs see something or hear something of interest they all ways run up to the t.v and stand in front of it and sometimes they bark or just put their head side to side, I have to watch because they will scratch at it. I tell them NO OFF then they sit in front of it (better doors then windows they make :D)

Is he scratching the t.v? Could ur t.v be to loud for his ears? Maybe try keeping him on leash and every time he goes to go to the t.v give hima correction make him lay down and praise/treat. Hopefully it should work, and he gets use to seeing/hearing what is on the t.v instead of putting him outside.

Good luck :)

ttfn :)

One of mine does the same, you just have to do the I'm in charge act and thats my spider, lion, monkey or whatever and you will leave it alone. :) But don't blame me if you are invaded by lions and your dog takes no notice.
