Just curious as to how much you cut down your walks when the weather is really warm (like today!)
Emmy is my 10 month old lab who normally needs a lot of exercise to keep her out of mishief, but during hot days she just tends to lay around and not want to do much. I don't want to over do things with her, and if we do go out, we only go early in the morning or late in the evening. Just wondered how you all cope in the heat!

a nice walk in the local woods. Its lovely and sheltered and very cool with a large pond in the middle. We all spend about 1 hour and a half cooling off sitting on the numerous benches.

edited to add we all sit not excercise and we have bottles of water. Its alot cooler than sitting indoors.
I take mine very early (6-7am) and very late (8-9pm) Having said that, I've just got in from work and I'm about to flake out for a while. Also I'm on call which means I could be called out anytime from now till 9 am tomorrow, so hubby walks them if that happens.

Hi
In the warm weather I take Sal "8 month old Stafford" a walk about 5.00am then about 9.00pm depending on the weather being cooler of course.
During the day she just chills out in the garden or in the kitchen where the standard fan is constantly on. Or in the conservatory with the ceiling fan on. Or if the cricket is on then she watches that from the sofa in the lounge with my Dad.

I don't take my danes at all in weather like this - they play together and then flake out for the day :)

I just adjust to a different pace—very early morning walk and late evening one does it and then they're fine during the day (they can lay on the cold spots in my house all day to keep cool). Here I'm lucky as I live very near the river and so it can be cool early morning/late evening when its hot.

Take Buddy and Daisy round the park early 6-7.30am on days off then 8am-9.30am when i finish nights. There's a couple of large ponds they like to wade into. Also put freezer blocks from cool bag under parcel shelf so they can get in there for the journey home. Air con full blast and plenty of fresh water. As for me a wet rag to mop my sweaty brow (i'm a cheap girl to run)
