Has anyone got a fan that attaches to the crate ? I have seen them at shows and they look a great idea - where do you get them from and secondly do you find your dogs tend to poke either noses or paws in them ?? ( just thinking of nosey Gus ;) )

I got mine from Woolworths. It has a bendy neck and big crocodile clip and attaches to just about anything and takes 2 AA batteries. It has bendy type blades that cannot cut. I always have a few spare batteries with me in case they run down. Its not very high tech but its fine for my needs.

Hi, several of the show traders have them, including Stock Nutrition (from Norfolk) and Hub International (www.hubint.co.uk - sorry cant do links) the Hub price includes batteries. These purpose made ones take bigger batteries so last longer, the little Woolies type cli ons which I have found tkae the AA size batteries which dont last all that long when left to run. Incidentally Wilkinsons do a battery fan attatched to a water spray bottle. The bottle is big enough to stand up when full of water - I have mine on the grooiming table when preparing the pugs, and take it ringside too - it help keep them that little bit cooler, and they can have a quick squirt of water too:)

Thanks admin, never thought of that :) The fan that I was talking of, take 2 large batteries (U2 I think) and they last up to 100 hours, but if you think, say 70 it would still get you through a season. And there is no way a nose or foot could get into it. The fan is blue, well at least mine is, and it is designed to clip onto the cage or a bench guard and has 2 speeds.

Jackie, Hi ,

Yes, sounds almost identical to mine, these ones designed to clip onto the cage with 2 pop up hooks seem very safe. (and the batteries last ages) it is the type you buy in Woolworths, market stall etc, which use AA batteries, which dont have a very long battery life, and could leave you without the fan part way through a show ( talking from friends experience here:))
bye
