can anyone tell me if it would be possible to use a dog who has never bred before as a stud dog at the age of six or is he just too old now????

I have just used one of my dogs at stud for the 1st time at 6 years old and he has just sired 6 pups, 4 girls and 2 boys Providing your dog has had all the relevant tests required for your breed and is healthy don't see why you should have a problem

Ahh, talk about life in the old dog yet:d One of my friends used her Spanish for the first time at 6 and I think he produced 8 healthy pups and has had a further litter since.
