I would usually e-mail someone for a direct question but i somehow feel bad asking a breeder outright how much "the going rate is for pugs" i would really like to know the price of pug puppies as i am looking to own my own from this delightful breed

hi guest.
for a well bred healthy kc registered pug puppy, you are looking at around £300. check out a few websites with pugs for sale, to see how much people sell theirs for to find out an average price.
hope this helps! :)

Hi guest and Casssie,
I think it may have been a typing error in your reply Cassie, but £300 for a pug pup? The average price is around £800, the range for a pet pup being between £650 to £1000. Strangely, I have had a couple of e-mails lately asking if I had any pugs for sale for abut £300, and have seen a wanted ad in the local paper saying the same. Cant think where this figure of £300 would come from :)
bye
Gwen

Pugs are one of the harder breeds to breed and are worth the high price. Don't touch anything that's £300.00.

hi,
i know they are expensive, i recently saw a litter advertised and they were £800 i suppose they are hard to breed and raise (like bulldogs), but for a well breed puppy, the price shouldnt come into it, if it was what i wanted i would happily pay it. :)
Jane.

Really £800! I never knew they were so expensive! there was an ad in my local paper a while ago selling pug puppies for £300 and thats where i got it from but they were selling labradors for £100 and various other breeds like collies for £60! they also had lab crosses for something stupid like £20.

Cassie, anyone selling that number of breeds for those sort of prices, is certainly not a specialist breeder. Prospective puppy owners should steer clear of those sort of adverts and wait for a puppy from a responsible, knowledgable and experienced breeder.

I was having a look around the web earlier wondering where this £300 came from, whuich appears to be a popular misconcenption , and came upon a kennel advertising various breeds including pugs, and a really cute :( ad for cross pugs - upon reading closer they had pug crosses avaiable crossed with about 4 small breeds all apparently by their own stud dog (who, according to the blurb had sired Ch show winning stock too) . I find it hard to believe that however determined a pug is, he could get at 4 different bitches without owners knowledge I can only assume this is a ploy to cash in on the pug market using less difficult bitches to whelp the 50/50 litters! Did not say how much they were, but I wuld guess not too cheap :(
bye

Hate to tell you this, but, a puppy farmer/sorry rearer!!!!, near me is selling pugs with IKC reg for £1.200. reduced price this week in paper, £950. I kid you not. For anyone in /Scotland its in the Daily Record. Steer well clear of this person.

How is it that this breeder/puppy rearer/farmer lives in Scotland BUT seems to register his puppies through the IKC?
Anyone else on this list doing the same? Are there any benefits registering in the IKC rather than the UK KC?

Because, he is buying them in from Ireland, visit www.mediacave.co.uk/wag for more information? He does not breed any of the dogs he is selling, well known in my area.
