Our mini schnauzer over the past few days has been biting his paws with real determination.Took him to the vets and she said he had grass mites and put some STRONGHOLD on the nape of his neck.We regulary use FRONTLINE but apparently this does not kill the mites.However he is still biting like crazy and I wondered if anyone has had similar problems.

hi - have you been using a different carpet cleaner.... or fabric spray...or something like shake n vac?

No Chloe, I do not use any carpet freshener at all and I cannot think of anything different that I am doing for it to be an allergy.

Th ground has been a bit wetter these few days and it is hay fever time also,

althetes foot powder helps and drying his feet fullign when he goes in and out doors, ( well coming in I mean)

Give his feet a wash every couple of days with Hibi scrub you can get it in the chemist.

KEEP HIM OFF THE grass..

My Cairn still scratches and bites at the base of her tail, even with Frontline. I expect she has a mild allergy to some kind of pollen. Biting paws is usually a sign of allergy, but your vet might have seen the grass mites. I expect Stronghold will take a couple of days to work and kill any resident mites.

Meanwhile - my ankles are itchy as heck from the £**! blasted little buggers!

Try using Thornit, I was reccommended to use it on my Poodles feet, worked a treat!

Biting and scartching at the base of the tail can sometimes indicate uncomfortable anal glands - they may need emptying by the vet.
