Topic Dog Boards / Health / Clicky leg - golden retriever

I have a 10 week old golden retriever pup which has a click in his leg when he walks. It doesn't happen all the time (only on the one side) so I was wondering if it was growing pains. He is growing very fast and wondered if anyone had experienced this before. He is not climbing stairs and he is still confined to the house at the moment as the injections are taking effect so he hasn't been doing much running around only in the garden. Please can someone reply to this as I am getting a bit worried. I took him to the vet and she said that they can't really tell if its something to be worried about and I will have to wait and maybe get his hips x-rayed later on (we will be getting him hip scored at 12 months anyway). Any info would be greatfully appreciated.

My Golden Retriever pup had a clicky hip for a while when he was about that age. It disappeared and hasn't reappeared again yet (5 months now). So I wouldn't be too worried - I guess it's just growing pains as you thought.
