We have a golden retriever puppy aged 13 weeks and she is doing very well(partly due to the good avice I have received from this forum) but she has very itchy dry skin, almost like dog dandruff. She didnt seem to have it when she was being fed on Eukanuba but now she is fed onPedigree puppy dry mix but Im not sure if this is coincidence. We gave her frontline about 3 weeks ago as she had fleas and we didnt know if it could be a reaction to that. The vet spotted it and said we should give her a teaspoon of cod liver oil with each meal which we have been doing fro the last week and a half but it doesnt seem to be any better. Any suggestions ?

Hello , if you use the Search page and type in DANDRUFF you may find some helpful hints from past threads :)

Yes I have done a search and most of them say the same thing about giving her some sort of oils which we have tried. We have an appointment to see the vet this saturday so maybe they can explain more.

My one boston had very flakey skin. I bathed him with medicated shampoo for dry skin, itchy skin, ect.($10.99) and towelled dried him and then I rubed him down with canola oil. A little goes a long way (kinda like us with hand lotion), and it worked great. I only bath them once every 6 months or once a year with shampoo, and I only rub the conola oil in after a bath. I now do it with all my dogs, and it seems to work for me.... well them...lol :)

ttfn :)
