Just started subscribing to this magazine three weeks ago, hoping to see my beagle's name in lights after our June show - but they're so far behind! We're still on May results, I shall have to start chivvying them along if they don't hurry up!
Anyway, just thought I'd share with you all what a good paper this is, lovely to see all the familiar names (dogs and humans alike) and see my dog's extended families winning all the rosettes! :)
Can't wait to see the big article they're planning about dog friendly accomodation, it took six weeks this year to find anywhere decent that truly 'welcomed dogs'.
Not the places that advertise 'Pet's welcome' then tell you they've got some lovely cold, concrete kennels outside and they only charge £15.00 per dog per week to shiver in them overnight. Mmm. Not really welcome then are they? Or the ones that take your money then say: 'No dogs on furniture, dogs on leads at ALL times (even when asleep?), Dogs not to be left in cottages unsupervised.' So, I can't even go out for an hour to have dinner in the evenings then? I've got to stay in and eat takeaway from the local chippy each night so dogs aren't left on own then?! How is it possible NOT to leave dogs on own for a few hours when you're on a sightseeing holiday and probably will want to visit a few places that don't accept dogs?
Went off on one again, didn't I. Anyway, Dog World's marvellous isn't it!

The Champ shows seem to get theirs in pretty quickly. I think what happens with the Open shows is the secretaries wait till all reports are in and then forward them. This is only my suspicion though. I've got some I'm still waiting on from early June. I dive to the door every Thursday morning and check the index to shows only to be disappointed, but it will be there soon (or so I keep telling myself LOL)

Your wrong there Wendy, it's up to the judges to send in their own reports. If DW is doing an article on the show then they wait until they get a good few reports in before printing. Likewise if they know that a photographer has attended a particular show they may hold back the reports and see how many people have paid to have their dogs photos in with the show.
