Hi.

I'm back again.
My nearly eight month old pup is having alot of problems with her peeing habits.

The last time i wrote, she was peeing every night and sometimes in the dogs beds (i have two other dogs).
I took her to the vet to rule out any infection and test came back all clear.

Having discussed probvlem with the vet,i decided to put her back into her cage.
This was working extrmely well. No more wet nights and she wasn't barking to get up early anymore, so she can hold it

I have now put her back in her bed without the cage, and she is weeing in the beds again on a night.

What can I do????

I would keep her in the crate at nights for a few more months. Hopefully by then the habit will have been broken, and she will be that more mature.

Has she had her first season yet? I would wait until after that, as some bitches can be more prone to marking in the run up to a season. Also occasionally I have found an in season bitch have a toileting accident. Something to do with hormones.

Not sure this is going to be helpful, but I had exactly this problem with my young girl for a long while, the only time I've ever had a problem house training a Collie. I bred her too, so can't blame anyone but myself ;) - I walked her last thing at night, took her out first thing in the morning, got up early to try and break habit .................. she was fine in crate, so could obviously hold it - can only think that maybe foxes/hedgehogs disturbed her, she moved, and 'the urge' took over.

Apart from crating her at night, didn't find any particular answers I'm afraid, but she did grow out of it eventually, by about 8 months I think, and is now totally trustworthy - apart from with one bed (mattress type with quite stiff cover, don't know if that has any relevance?), which I have now given up using as without fail she will pee on it the first day it comes in, no matter how thoroughly it's been washed
