Hello there.

I have an interest in pugs (mostly)/french bulldogs and griffons. I will be buying my own place soon and wish to buy a dog as a companion and part time guard. I realise the delicate nature of people who work owning dogs and I am still undecided whether it would be fair, but I wondered if anyone could inform me of whether any of the above breeds would suit spending this amount of time alone?

I do hope you can help me with my enquiry, and believe me this is not just a passing interest, I am genuinely doing my research.

If you have a spare minute or two to pass on some much needed advice, I would be extremely chuffed.

Thankyou

I have Griffons and do have to leave them for work, however I have seven of them to keep each other company. I would never leave one of them for any length of time on their own. I wouldn't recommend any of those breeds as guard dogs.

if you can really put in the time the dogs need before and after work then it can be done, but is a real commitment.

I would also a suggest you find someone to walk the dogs at lunchtime, there are lots of dog walking services out there!!
