Hi Carole,
I give my dogs (all adult now) Drontal Plus every 3 months, as this rids them of both roundworm and tapeworm. Dogs can pick up worms from wherever other dogs (or foxes) have been, and from the food they eat (or scavenge) - raw rabbit is notorious for passing on tapeworm. Talk to your vet for the best preparation for your dogs.

Drontal is the best..it is an all round wormer so does the main worms. Panacur is not as good as it is not a duel wormer.
You must not use the same preperations for them both.
Wormers go on weight so the 10 month old will need a much stronger dose. Also, regular drontal isnt advisable for a pup as young as 15 weeks....get drontal puppy or go for panacure until he is old enough. It comes ni liquid, powder or paste...much easier at this young age.

Puppies in my experience never get tapeworms unless they are exersised over land where sheep have been. Though puppies with a flea infestation could get a tapeworm. This could just be the area I am in in Wales - few sheep near me. I dont use a dual wormer (tapeworm and roundworm) til about 9 months of age and then only once a year , I worm for roundworm every 4 months once a puppy has had its "roundworm puppy wormings" - every 3 weeks from birth to 12 weeks. For general worming I use Strongid paste but vary it and sometimes use Drontal and sometimes Panacur Granules as they all cover slightly different worms. I would never use Panacur puppy liquid after having a litter of small puppies very poorly immediatly after dosing them.
