DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST

It takes less than a minute.......

Work this out as you read.

Don't cheat and read the bottom until you've worked through it!

This is fun!

1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to

have

dinner out. (try for more than once but less than 10)

2. Multiply this number by 2 (Just to be bold)

3. Add 5. (for Sunday)

4. Multiply it by 50 - I'll wait while you get the

calculator................

5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1753.... If you

haven't, add 1752..........

6.. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

You should have a three digit number

The first digit of this was your original number

(I.e., how many times you want to have eat out each week.)

The next two numbers are...

YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it IS!!!!!)

THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2003) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND

WHILE IT LASTS. IMPRESSIVE, ISN'T IT

heh heh...my other half had to work it out :D

Steps 1, 2, 3 & 4 gives you: (where t= no of times eating out)
50(2t + 5) = 100t + 250
assuming you have had your birthday so far this year
Steps 5 & 6 gives you
1753 - (birthyear) = 1753 - (2003 - age at birthday this year) = -250 + age at birthday this year

So put it all together and you get
100t + 250 - 250 + (age at birthday this year) = 100t + (age at birthday this year)

and then just for completeness assuming you have NOT had your birthday so far this year
Steps 5 & 6 gives you
1752 - (birthyear) = 1752 - (2003 - age at birthday this year) = -251 + age at birthday this year

So put it all together and you get
100t + 250 - 251 + (age at birthday this year) = 100t + (age at birthday this year) - 1

Its (age at birthday this year - 1) as you haven't had your birthday yet, so you are currently one year younger than you will be at your next birthday.

The basis of this puzzle will work for any year number just by increasing the values at step 5 (1752 & 1753) by one for every additional year

He insisted on writing it all out....SMART ARSE! :D
Heh heh, theres always one isnt there :D
