Topic Dog Boards / Health / Gasping for breath

Any ideas please? I think its just a case of my PRT getting biscuits stuck in his throat when he bolts down his food (he eats a complete biscuit mix), but sometimes he seems to be gasping for breath. After a while he seems okay. We tend to rub his throat in a hope to dislodge anything that may be there. Has anyone else experienced this with dried food?

My springer used to do this when she bolted her food down. I started to feed her on an ergonomic feeder and that does the trick.
