Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Can I go to shows with my pup?

Hi

I know I can't show my pup until she is 6 months but can she go as a spectator?
We go to ringcraft and walks but we don't see lots of dogs all together apart from once a week. My girl Lola is 12 weeks and too old for my vets puppy parties!! She's a Dobe - say no more!
Thanks
Annieee :)

Could you not put up a little ad in the vets asking if there are any owners with young dogs/puppies who would like to meet up in the park say a couple of times a week ? Pup will make new friends and so will you . There will be other like-minded owners I'm sure who would like the chance to meet up
Good luck
Lel
By the way here abouts are you ? You never know there may be people here thinking th same thing :)

You can't take an unentered dog to open shows or above whatever the age but you could take a puppy to an Exemption Show or Companion Dog Shows. I took my Anna to one at 12 weeks old. She spent a large part of the time sleeping on my lap but that was fine because she met so many people and dogs without getting over tired.

Be careful not to over do it. Don't walk too far and give the puppy plenty of time to rest while you are there. Take up a place beside the ring and let the people come to you. A puppy acts like a magnet so you will not be short of visitors!

Regards, John

Thanks all,

I'll certainly take up all suggestions. I'll let you know how we get on :)
