Sorry to hear that Glenys, Didi was a great asset to the breed, her "Poolstead" type was world renowned, you could look at a Lab and say "Poolstead" just like you always could a Sandylands, but Didi's type still held today. A great loss to the breed.

So sorry to hear this. Yet another of the old breeders who knew a Labrador when they saw one. Trouble is, so many people are now breeding who have no knowledge of the dogs in their pedigree. The old breeders took the time to find out about the breed. How often these days we see, "My bitch is in season and I want a stud dog for her." Proof if proof was needed that these people have no idea about pedigrees and what individual dogs throw.

Hi John,

Very sad indeed and a very sorry loss to the breed. They should be some kind of thoughts for the breeder at Kelso hopefully.

Like all breeds this is happening. I have found in the 3 breeds that I have personally owned that the " oldies" are the best to get information from and genuine help. The do actually know the breed not just how they are in the whelping box. I love to listen to them and their passion.

Although I have only had westies for few years we grew up around Boxers and Labs my husband GSD's. We had a Sandyland lab or at least my folks did.

Hopefully some decent person will keep the name going strong.

Pam
