My husband and I bought a basset puppy, Roxi, a few months ago and last week her left front paw turned out. I took her to the vet immediately. Right away he said she has a genetic defect, took an x-ray and sent it to an orthopedic surgeon for examination. We got the results today and Roxi has angular limb deformity. One of the 2 bones in her leg is growing faster than the other causing it to twist in an outward direction. She will need surgery which we were told would cost between $2000 - $3000. Naturally this is a completely unexpected expense and we just don't have the cash. We are willing to give our boat to anyone who is willing to pay for the surgery. The boat is a 16" larson with a 70 HP in excellent running condition and comes with the trailer.
If this is not possible I would appreciate ANY advice on what to do. I can't give up my little girl. We really need some help so we can keep our family together. Thanks for anything at all.

Would it be quicker to sell the boat, even at a loss? In the UK we have some organisations that help out with vet costs, do you have anything like that?

Hi change her food put her on tripe and bisciut meal which is low in protein, can you ask your vet if putting a splint onto the leg would help as this has been done before and you also need to talk to some more basset hound breeders they will know more dont just take the first opinion try to find a web site and do lots of reading up dont give any best of and let us know how you get on Jackie
