Hi Guest
7.5 hours to leave a dog on its own is too long a time. Would there be anybody at home with it when you have gone to school? If not, how would you feed it, exercise it, give it love and attention? If you are planning to get a puppy it would be really unfair to leave it for this amount of time, they need company and not too mention consistent training, it is like having a new baby, would you leave a new baby alone and go to school?
I have heard that the maximum amount of time you can leave a dog for is 4 hours and even then I am not so sure, it depends on the dog, they can start becoming destructive if left for too long and can get very miserable and bored.
I hope this has helped and am sorry if it is not the answer you want to hear.
Best Wishes
Van
