When buying a dog you must be aware of the risk that one runs of encouraging the puppy farming industry, bitches bred too young and every season, spending their entire lives in the most disgusting circumstances and at the end of it all perhaps a bullet through their skull. As a dog lover this is something I’m sure you deplore. They are often not easy to recognise and never admit to being puppy farmers, their pups are cheaper, more readily available and even deliver to your door but by buying one we are being part of the problem.

Therefore I always advise searchers get in contact with the relevant breed club. If you go to the Kennel Club website, click on the Discover Dogs page and then the relevant breed, at the bottom of the page you will find relevant contact details. You need to be especially careful with the popular breeds as they are a cash crop to a puppy farmer.
