my bitch is on day 61 and has been rstless all day, but the pups have been sqirming around like mad all day, are they very active before imminent birth or do they generally go still??

My vet said (at 2am on day 66!) that if they are still wriggling up in the uterine horns the birth is not imminent.

Yes, the do wriggle, it's one of the best things ever. I sit there for ages watching when my girls are pregnant. Don't worry when they go quiet as they do just a few days before they are born, although I have had some wriggle all the way through. All the best for the birth.
