last night at 10.30pm we lost hamble and her puppies. she collapsed without warning. we got her to the vet within 10 minutes but there was nothing he could do. there were eleven pups. my heart is broken.

thankyou all so much. i am sat here sobbing my heart out. i cannot explain the pain and guilt i feel. i have spoken to reef's breeder and they have reasurred me.....i honestly dont know how i am going to live without her. we helped the vet to try and save the pups...they were perfect....we went back and said our goodbyes this morning. you are such lovely people on here.....i am going to need you in the coming weeks......god bless you all.

we lost Cass a week ago, we still have her pups in the house....and we had a shock on wednesday night.

Tanni, im so, so, sorry to hear your sad news, nothing can prepare us for this happening, it happened to a friend of mine last year, she welped a healthy litter, mum and pups were doing well, got up next morning to find the dam had died during the night, vet could not find anything wrong, she handreared the pups for two weeks, but lost them one by one. This is reality for those of you thinking that breeding is easy its not, our hearts are in our mouths when a bitch is welping you never know what can go wrong. Irene-Westyholm Westies

The same thing happened to a friend ofg mine whose bitch had already had a litter two years earlier, so no problems were anticiapated. Her heart gave out and she and pups were lost.

It took a great deal of courage for her to breed from the daughter tyhe next year.

There is nothing we can say, but all of us who love our dogs can guess at how we would feel.

Oh my gosh. I am so very, very sorry. Now I am even more worried about my bitch. I can't imagine anything happening to her. I will be thinking of you.
