Rain - please - I want it to rain -rain, hail, snow... I love winter. Wrapped up in waterproofs walking through mud with the dogs - bliss. I even bought a coat today so I'm not caught out in September lol

Cheer up Chloe - there's just been a light shower here (and the temp's down to 77), and it's supposedly working its way north....
- By Carla Date 16.07.03 15:03 UTC
Its 30 degrees here!! Honestly, my flowers would have frazzled had the dogs not already dug them up

Hi Chloe
where r u?
Here it is a bit cooler and while walking the dog, i got absolutely soaked ( not dressed for the wet)
A very heavy shower!
The heat has killed all my flowers though...such a shame, they looked really pretty :(
well....it would be nice to have some sun again...but not sticky heat cos that isnt very nice :(
- By Carla Date 16.07.03 15:47 UTC
Hi - I'm in the Midlands - Staffordshire

Its so humid here - theres no sun now, overcast, sticky - horrible!!
- By steph n millie [gb] Date 16.07.03 15:56 UTC
Hiya
Im just outside London....it was really sticky this morning. Now it is just wet and cloudy.
But, never mind, I think one more day of blistering heat and my garden would be totally ruined :)
Not long till autumn....hold out till then :)

I live in South Manchester just arrived home from work where is was 34 degrees, way too hot!!! Still want nice weather at the weekend though.
- By lel [gb] Date 16.07.03 16:38 UTC
The sun is STILLLLL blazing down here in the North West ( Wirral) .
Poor Gus hasnt been out for days except to the shop and back which is a mere 5 minutes . Its much too hot to take him to the woods in the car !!!! Luckily he's not a sun worshipper !!
I adore the sun and take every opportunity to top up my tan but its even too hot for me ! :)
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 16.07.03 16:42 UTC
Still 77 (25 for all you modern lot!) - dry and overcast, a bit of a breeze, but not as humid It was pouring in Stratford just now (11 miles away, northish) though...it must be heading your way soon.
:)
- By Sandie [gb] Date 16.07.03 16:49 UTC
Here In Cambridgeshire its very hot and humid still no sign of the rain they promised, dogs are all laying around feeling sorry for themselves.
- By lel [gb] Date 16.07.03 17:26 UTC
Its started to cloud over (jusT ) .
Never thought I would be glad for the sun to go in :)
Will have to nip out and bring the washing in before it starts .
Hope it thunders ! I love it when it thunders and its really hot .

In Surrey we've had pouring rain on and off all day, has brought the temp down a bit though still muggy, was bliss to give the dogs a proper walk!

We are off to Whipsnade tomorrow, so praying for dry but cool

Chloe
we have thunder and lightning now but no rain yet !!!
Hurry up !!!! :)
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 16.07.03 18:19 UTC
It's rained, and is down to 70 now. A better night for sleeping I think (as long as God doesn't throw the furniture down the stairs..)
- By lel [gb] Date 16.07.03 18:22 UTC
:D
- By Carla Date 16.07.03 18:43 UTC
it rained...it dropped to 27 degrees - now its back up to 30!! this is me-------> with a red face
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 16.07.03 18:58 UTC
The thunder's started.......I'm going to spend the evening with 4 big, brave, quivering lumps of dalmatian all trying to get on my lap at once! Deep joy.
:)

6.30 am in the morning is a wonderful time for a walk. I just can't wait to throw open the kitchen door and get out into the fresh air. Bliss.
- By lel [gb] Date 16.07.03 20:16 UTC
We're still waiting - the thunder has stopped and the rain never came .
Every window in the house is open and there is just no air
It is SOOO hot still - oh for little breeze :)

Well, we have just had a cracking thunder storm - it went on for two hours - we live in a farmhouse, alone on top of a hill and it just circled us - it was awesome! And its nice and cool now too :) Rain was bouncing off the roof!
- By FrankieB [gb] Date 16.07.03 21:44 UTC
We're lucky here living near the river so after about 7 in the evening there's a lovely breeze and the dogs get a cooling swim at the end of it so no problems really.
- By charlie24 [gb] Date 16.07.03 21:54 UTC
Sorry, but i have to disagree i love the sun, everything looks so much nicer. Although sometimes it does get stuffy, i find night times the worst.
- By dollface Date 17.07.03 00:17 UTC
It's hot here but I just love it. I still take the Boston's out for their daily walk, because by the time it cools down a bit (a little tiny bit) I'm all ready in bed. We go to the park with bags and a water dish in a back pack (the park isn't very far), once there we water the dogs and the kids and dogs go through the sprinklers (dogs are not too amazed but they cool down:)) Then we walk a bit, water them again (drink) and go back home. The dogs like it and so do we. :D If we didn't live close to the park don't think we would go for walks then.

ttfn :)

Well this morning at about 5.45am God didn't just throw his furniture down the stairs he chucked straight out the window from a great height! Thunder so loud it shook the house! My kids slept straight through it.........Lady barked her displeasure...:)

So now it's grey........soggy, cooler but really humid so doesn't feel any better at all.......bring back the sun.......please........:D
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 17.07.03 07:42 UTC
Brrrrrr!
65 degrees this morning, grey and misty. Shorts back in the drawer and jeans on again. Was that summer?
- By Samw [gb] Date 17.07.03 08:20 UTC
Well, isnt it nice and cool and wet today :)
Monty experienced Thunder and Lightening for the first time yesterday and.........he didn't flinch! He looked at me to say "will you shut that racket up" and then went back to killing his toys
Doesnt anything faze this 10 week old pup????????

Hmmm - I spent the evening with a ten month great dane on my lap - I couldn't move without him being right beside me. He's not normally such a wuss, but it was deafening here last night...and the electricity was on and off aswell

well, here in Surrey, it feels like November! It is cold, windy, rainy, deadleave on the floor...mmmmm, lovely! Well, I guess we have had our summer.
- By tanni [gb] Date 17.07.03 11:00 UTC
the heatwave broke with a vengeance here this morning. one almighty lightening bolt across our house that frightened me to death.its stopped raining now but its ohhhhhh so cool....and hamble has stopped panting and actually eaten some biscuits and chicken! :):):)...for her sake i hope it stays cool for just a few more days. she was so uncomfortable yesterday i was in tears!!. sponged her down with tepid water and sat in the kitchen cuddling her.
- By jiff [gb] Date 17.07.03 14:41 UTC
the weather here by the sea is truely a site to be seen. It is still muggy but over cast and the waves are coming in really strong from France. Holiday makers who were camped out on the beach over the weekend are now seeking entertainment on the pier leaving the beach to locals and thier dogs
- By Carla Date 17.07.03 15:44 UTC
Hi Liz

Well, its been chucking it down all day today - its been great! Huge storms last night, rain today, Willis and I have been for a lovely walk - no fairweather dog walkers, no panting, no heat, just rain, puddles and cool air - bliss :)
- By lel [gb] Date 17.07.03 16:51 UTC
We have rain at last !!! :)
Still warm tho but *alittle* cooler

I wish I was having your weather! It's winter here now and I'm freeeezing. I much prefer summer, and yours sounds divine. It's not considered a proper heat wave here in West Australia unless it's over 40 degrees. The highest I remember it going was about 46! High 20s - Low 30s sounds positively GLORIOUS! :)
