Only the fun GSD rallies Barbara. There is one in Birmingham on Sunday 3rd Aug and another in Bristol on Sunday 7th September. Email me if you would like more details.

Hi Barbara.
You can show a long coat at any companion/exemption dog show.

Hi Barbara, if your GSD is registered with the Kennel Club you can show it at any show. The coat is judged on it's type and ability to keep the dog dry, not it's length.

As the last two posters have said, the long coat GSD can been shown at any show, but you will need to have an excellent dog to compete against the breed standard. I have shown my long coats at exemption/ companion shows in the past and some judges has not really given them a second glance. This is why the GSD rallies are such good fun, as you get to compete against other long coats and not just the standard. Lets face it at the end of the day any judge needs to judge to the breed standard of the dog.

The Kennel Club Standard does says that coat length is not specified.
