We introduced a westie puppy into our family just over a week ago. She has settled well and adores our cats and 11 month old baby! The main problem we are having is her pooing all over the sitting room. It is worrying us because there is a lot of muccus and blood in her poo. Can anybody out there give us an idea of what this might be!?

Get her checked out by your vet and take a sample with you in a clean jar. There are many causes for passing blood.

Could be Collitis my Westie has this he was a rescue dog. He is on Salozopyrin tablets and the vet prescribed Hills Canine ID, however he still had problems I changed this to Naturediet Lite after taking advice from Lucy on this forum. Wonderful stuff he has never been this good. I would take him to the vets and get him properly diagnosed. The other thing it could be is if you are giving him loads of different foods or are your kids feeding him as their stomachs can be rather sensitive.
What are you feeding him? Wagg had a disasterous effect on my Westie.

Had same problem with my Westie. I was giving him too much protein and swapping and changing food around to get him to eat. Vet advised me to try diet which was lower in protein and fat and to stop all treats which i know can be hard.
Good luck.
