Topic Dog Boards / Health / conjunctivitis??
- By dudleyl [gb] Date 04.01.02 20:17 UTC
advice please - one of my girls has a yellowy discharge at the inner corner of her eyes. Its only really been noticeable today. The dogs next door had conjunctivitis a few weeks back and we kept them away although they love to sniff each other through the fence. Do you think that's what it is, and will she need to see the vet for anti-biotics, or can I get rid of it with regular bathing.
Thanks in advance, Lorna
ps. if its something infectious then the other one is bound to get it so I presume I'll have to treat her prophylactically as well.

Hi Leigh - it was conjuctivitis. She's had antibiotic eye drops which have cleared it up, but now the other ones got runny eyes so I have started the drops on her. Also my eyes are itchy so I wonder if I've caught it off them. Both the dogs next door had it a few weeks back, and a dog down the road also. We wonder if it is spread by foxes.
