Hi All
As you know i am new to all this. My bitch is now 55 days gone, and all is well, except for the heat!!!. I am just wondering about vaccinations, I know all puppies have injections at 10 and 12 weeks from owning dogs, but are there any that are needed before they go to new homes?

I'm not sure - I think some breeders may vaccinate against parvo at 4 weeks - but then I could have dreamt that!! :) I'm sure more people will be along in a minute

I have mum and pups checked out the first day and then pups don't see the vet (unless they are ill) until their first injection which mine have at 8 rather than 10 weeks old. I prefer my pups to have at least the first injection before going to new homes. You will need to worm the puppies 2 or 3 times before they are old enough to leave home, what age they have the wormers at depends on what you are using. Mine are done at about 2 1/2 - 3 weeks and again at 5 1/2 to 6 weeks and at about 9 weeks. One of my girls is now about 53 days and she is also really suffering from the heat as well.

First injections can be given as early as 6 weeks but really it is up to you and your vet. Good luck with your pups, Truff is really finding this very hot weather too much for her. She likes to stretch out on the floor as it is cooler than her bed, so she is sleeping under her bed rather than on top.
