My 5 month old boxer sometimes pee's with excitment on the floor when someone comes up to say hello to him. He doesn't do this to everyone just some people! I guess it's just his age and over excitement but would like to hear from others on how long it took their dogs to grow out of it.

Some never grow out of it :)
Pup sometimes does it now and again but my previous Staffy who lived til the grand old age of 14 still did it up until he died .

My 5 year old crossbreed still does this, on occasions, but only, ever, with my husband ! Our year old Aussie also does it sometimes, for example, when my son comes home from uni :) But, in general, she has stopped doing it regularly.

Tiva usta do this all the time. So what I did when people came over or even the family came home we ignored her. She went straight outdoors and when let back in we still ignored her, she would come up to us and after about 5 min she was fine. She stopped doing it by about 6 months. A friend of ours does this everytime someone comes over. We went over their one day and Cleo was let out to see us and I could see why she just peed all over the sidewalk in so much excitement when she seen us and our dog. She hasn't grown outta it yet with people she hasn't seen in awhile.

My 9 month old Cairn sometimes forgets herself and will pee in the house, usually when we have visitors. A little while ago I dropped a piece of pate I had wrapped in cling film, by the time I realised I had done it my Cairn was off with it. I caught up with her and she was so excited about the pate - and probably stressed about my sudden appearance to take the pate back -- she squatted on the carpet and peed as I watched.

I am hoping she outgrows it, but in the meantime I am getting my money's worth out of my mini carpet shampoo machine.
