What breed is the Alsatian? Is it the new breed which is a combination of laborador and standard poodle?
The Alsation is now correctly known as a German Shepherd dog. It is not a new breed, and nothing to do with Labrodors or poodles.

The Alsation was orginally brought into the country as the German sheperd dog.During the war years it was obviously not acceptable to own a 'german' anything and so the name was changed to Alsation. We have now got over the 'german' thing and they are all known as German sheperds again(GSD).However some people(who are not specialists) will call the straight back 'english' type as Alsations and the germanic type as GSD,which is incorrect-they are all one breed but differeny types

The one I like is that the short coats are Alsations and the long coats are German Shepherds!!!

Sorry don't mean to be rude, but the thought of a german shepherd coming from a poodle made me chuckle.
