my girl is on her 60 day, and all mornin her temparture has stayed between 97 98.5 would you reckon she near to haveing pups and how long would she be till she gives birth ,

It all should happen within 24 hours, if the first stage of labour doesn't progress contact your vet. Evidently the temperature rises back to normal at the onset of 2nd stage, so my vet says!. However he's the on that had me running our girl round the garden at midnight to get 2nd stage started...I must have looked a right twit!

I have only had one litter, so can only say from limited experience. On the day my bitch delivered her pups her temp was 36.4 (97 ish). The first sign I had that labour had begun, was she lost the mucus plug from her cervix. At this point I encouraged her to stay in the whelping box. The first puppy was born within an hour. I think your bitches temp is still too high, I'm guessing another day or two.

How long is a piece of string :)

It is impossible for anyone to say exactly when she will give birth. Unlike many people I don't take too much notice temp readings as rarely get exactly the same twice running anyway. I prefer to watch my bitch

If you are concerned contact your vet - they can do something and see your dog, we can't.

okay thanks for replying . this is her second litter what i can remember of her last litter before she gave birth was her temp was at 98 . and she woke me up 4 o clock in mornin . panting for half an hour then out came a pup so hopefully tonight or early hours of mornin she have her pups , so ive got a long night ahead of me , well i keep you posted
