Personally I wouldn't bath a dog at this late stage of pregnancy unless you absolutely had to. If you do decide to bath her then you must make sure that the water you use is at body temperature and that any shampoo is safe to use.

I would leave her until at least a couple of weeks after whelping. She won't want to leave the pups at first, and really won't appreciate the stress of having a bath! :)

I would also suggest making sure her teats are well washed so they don't have the taste of soap because it may put them off from nursing. When I bathed Tiva when her pups were 2 weeks (she really needed one) I was told to wash her teats down after with vinigar and water very diluted.

ttfn :)

I would wash the whole of her "under carriage" from her lower chest, all along under her tummy and her tail and legs - also her mouth/jaw. Make sure you dry her really well/keep her warm and cosy til she is 100% dry. I usually bath mine when they get to about 6 1/2 - 7 weeks and then do the undercarraige when they are due if they have got grubby. If she is coated, trim closely around the teats and vulva. Good luck.
