CAN ANYONE RECOMMEND A RELIABLE INSURANCE COMPANY? I WOULD PREFER A POLICY THAT WILL CONTINUE TO INSURE AN ONGOING CONDITION, JUST IN CASE MY LAB EVER SUFFERS FROM HIP DYSP'.
I KNOW PETPLAN ARE SUPPOSED TO BE GOOD, BUT THEY ARE ALSO RATHER EXPENSIVE!

I'm afraid you don't get something for nothing! I've yet to hear of an insurance company that will take on an existing condition - do you mean "possible hereditary problems" that your lab might get in the future?

Try Argos Gold or Silver Plan - although we have yet to use them yet ( fingers crossed it stays that way) ;)
£8 something per month

More Than: seem pretty good, they cover any condition up to £6000 . Not as good as Petplan who cover for life, but cheaper. Libby is with them, and we've already claimed twice, they paid out, no problem. I'd certainly recommend them.

petplan supreme policy is a good one we have one of our dogs with them the supreme is unlimited so how ever much you have to claim they pay out ,in the last 9mths we have claimed about £6000 and they have always paid out with in a couple of weeks

Our dogs are all insured with Pet Plan, I know its more expensive but they are very good and cover for life.

Spent Tuesday night going through insurance on the net, as Kujoe's insurane runs out this week with kennel club and pet plan, Britney is with pet plan with un limited claims. I had a friend that had to have both hip's replaced on her Bordeaux, hip score of near 80,I could not find another firm that offered unlimited cover, we pay £24.64 a month but it gives peace of mind, but to insure Kujoe the male they want £26 80 a months £50 plus seems a lot to pay out but when you think of the cost of hip replacements even putting that money in a bank account and saving it would not cover that cost of the operation. Such a lot had get out clauses when you got down to the small print.some did not cover eye's other congenital problems Alot seemed to to know the fault in each breed then put an exclusion in to stop any cover, I am still confused but I think I will go with petplan,a case of better the devil you know

Petplan, More Than and Pet Healthcare Services are all reputable and heard good things about all.
Pet Healthcare services also do a premier plan which includes unlimited vets fee's,
Although obviously you have to pay higher premium. I think both their plans are for life policies
too, and they pay out very quickly, they aim to have 90% of all claims settled in the same day.
YES and they have delivered this aim, as I've had my cheque in the post the next day :D
I think the old adage is right "You get what you pay for" sometimes the cheaper policies
are attractive, but are false economy in the long run, always read the small print!

we are using asda and argos.asda was £9.75 a month with some very good cover, unfortunatley they are having trouble with underwriters so we cant use them for the second dog, instead we are with argos for him,the cost is £8.33 a month but the cover isnt as good as asda, but at least he is covered incase.
