Hi helen,

A few years ago I lost all my pups except one to Fading Puppy Syndrome. The syndrome started roughly 12 hours after the litter was born.
Being a Vet Nurse (10 years ago, before I had the children) I have seen the damage of not worming , especially in puppies, their stomach and guts become so infested, nothing can be eaten or passed out.

Hi I would say your puppy is ill through the lack of worming it can make pups very poorly in deed and i hope she gets better soon. all the best gwen

bless her helen hope she's better soon. fading puppy syndrome usually occurs in the first week after birth.if they looked happy and healthy when you picked moki up it sounds like a bad worm infestation.

someone I know lost 4 puppies from a litter of 7 at just over one day old. The vet said it was probably 'Fading puppy syndrome'. When speaking to a very experienced breeder however (who had helped save the other 3 of the litter over the phone) she said there is no such thing as fading puppy syndrome - it is really only a term to explain deaths for which the exact cause is not known - in my friends case the puppies had got cold (despite being with the mother) and were dropping like flies until the breeder had explained what to do. I would have thought it more likely in your case that the worms were the cause of the other puppies deaths.

I too would say it was worms, and do hope this breeder is not planning on having anymore litters in the future if this is how she looks after them :( sorry but that is just how I feel. Small price to pay to deworm the pups and in this case the pups paid a big price because of someone's ignorance that just makes me Is there a way u can get a hold of the other owners to let them know, or will the breeder at least do that on their own? Maybe then it's way to late :(

Just sad thats all I can say. Very sorry for ur little one but I do hope the lil furbaby makes a speedy recovery and very fortunate to have such caring parents :)

If your pup is Kennel club registered, then the free 6 week puppy insurance will cover the cost of all the vet bills! All my pups - because of being weaned early - are wormed at 2, 4, 6 and 8 weeks when they leave, your poor little pup, I do hope she recovers fully and that the breeder gives you some sort of compensation!!

Glad she's better, Helen. A pup that is "wrecking the joint" sounds fit, well and normal....! :)
