If a dog wins a CC or RCC then am I right in thinking that they are ineligibe to compete at a companion show? I went to one on Sunday where one or two people had won cc's, but how would the judge know? I can see that it is good practice to compete with 'good' dogs at these shows, but on the other hand, beginners, or people who are there just for fun, which is what it is all about, have no chance against such good show dogs. I have no axe to grind, as I enjoy competing in these shows, regardless, but am curious as to what other people think.

I still take my Champion and her RCC wining Mum to these shows, but only enter the Novelty classes. I find it quite fun to see them get their come uppance in prettiestbitch etc, as they often don't get a bean!!!

It is down to the exhibitors honesty, and it must be a sad person who needs to prove that they can win at this level when they have a dog with CC wins.

An Obedience CC w9inner could go in the pedigree and Novelty classes, and the Champion, CC or RCC winner can still go in the obedience classes and Novelties.

I can only put my Veterans in the Pedigree classes now, so take the winning girls to do the novelties (and support the charity) so the older ones don't find it too much.

I'm somebody who has been called for taking a supposed Spanish Champion to a companion show. I have been told now that a person has complained each time to the officials that I am taking my Spanish Champion with me and that I should not be allowed to show!!!

My dog was never shown in Spain and left the country before she could become a Spanish champ. Makes me laugh because she was 8 years old when she was first allowed to be shown in this country.

One of my other dogs has one a no. of res. cc's and one cc and is getting on now and isn't shown and hasn't been for a couple of years but unfortunately he can't be shown at these ahhh. I love going to them and have real fun. Yes I have shown for years and won quite well but I really enjoy supporting my local companion shows, it's a great day out.
