Please could anyone tell me of a 'tried and tested' house/dog sitting service. We had made arrangements for our dog to go to a friends whilst on holiday and due to unforeseen circumstances it is no longer possible. We are unable to use kennels for various reasons. The 'sitter' would need to be in the cambridgeshire area so we could meet them on a regular(ish) basis to be vetted and also to establish a relationship with our dog and vice versa. This is the first time i have had to do this and understandably feel very anxious about it. So if someone could recommend an individual or company it would be greatly appreciated.

Try here. I'm using them for the third time, and they've always been excellent.

Thanks jeangenie,

Will definately look into them. Even better they are only about 20 miles away. Do you always use the same person, if you do would you be able to reccommend them by name?

They try to get people who live no more than 50 miles from you, and you meet them prior to the "sit" for reassurance on both sides - if the first people suggested don't meet your approval, they send someone else. Unfortunately we've never had the same people.....one had her hips replaced and wasn't up to 4 dals, and last year's couple will be on their own holiday!!! Outrage!
It's not cheap, but with multiple dogs it's cheaper than kennels. Plus your house is lived in and maintained.
