Hi,I have 2 boxers but had the boy since 6 wks old,he is now 18 mths,he has always been a slim dog but until recently almost seems overnight he has just filled out immensly.
I always thought i was doing something wrong but now i feel quite proud to own such a well structured dog at this age, still growing fast, don't know when he'll stop.
I think boxers grow at different paces,i know a friend who has one and he is 10 mths old,he is much bigger than when my boy was at this age.
Don't worry, still very young and will surprise you one day.
Then there's Lucie(my bitch) she is only 16 mths old,we've had her for 3mths now and when we got her,i'd never seen such a skinny bitch boxer, but packing on the lbs aready.
Hope everything turns out ok.
Gary
PS Bruce(my boy) was a fussy eater in his younger days, but now enjoys every meal.
Again,don't worry yoursrelf

I bet she's gorgeous, mine too are both brindle with white socks. If you'd never seen them before, you wouldn't know who was who at a glance. Is this your first boxer in the family?
Gary
Lean dogs, like lean people, are likely to be healthier than fat ones.
Mature dogs have muscle to make them look bulkier and a young pup has not yet had time to develop this
Christine
Don't worry unduly, alot of Boxers tend to be lean as puppies
and then as they come upto 18 months they body up and don't
look back. With bitches they often need their 1st season before
they pick up in eating habits.
I've got one now that was a little on the skinny side as a youngster
didn't help losing an oldie and then homing her last sibling at 12 weeks
old, she was skinny, however at 9 months old she had her first season and
it helped her appetite no end. Now shes a big girl and weighs in at 28-30kgs
which for a bitch is big, no worries about being too lean now, quite the
opposite :D

Hi Boxacrazy,
what are you feeding her?
Had any experiences with tripe?
My pups were reared on Arden Grange (and their mum fed on it too)
But I now feed my girls Nutro and they are in lovely condition.
Yes my puppy's dad was fed tripe and biscuit, it stank but the dogs loved
it :D I don't feed it because I don't have the room for another freezer to be used
solely for dog food.
I've always been told if you want to bulk up you feed more biscuit, and the same
if you want them to lose wieght you reduce their biscuit. This is for dogs fed meat/tripe
and biscuit.
