Am going to two shows over the weekend and one of them has a pedigree class

Do you have to take your pedigree certificate as proof??????????
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 04.07.03 10:54 UTC
No. At least you didn't have to last time I went to one!

oh right!! I guess its pretty obvious if the dog isnt pedigree. will take it just incase

do you have to for proper shows

No to that as well! I guess because for 'proper' shows you have to fill in the entry form in advance, and give more details etc....

Hiya,

for companion shows, you register on the day....just give your dogs name...thats all. (sometimes this happens in the ring after judging, other times, before you go in the ring, it's a good idea to ask the other competitors to find out)

Then 'proper' shows ie: open and champ shows you'll fill in an entry form beforehand (which you'll have to send for...details in the dog papers)
On this form, it'll, just be, the dogs full name, sire and dams name, breed. then your info, name address etc. So no, you don't have to take your dogs pedigree and kc reg.

Good luck!

Companion shows you register on the day before showing begins. Like all shows you have to have details of entries just in case the KC request details. For fun dogshows that are not under KC rules it may be slightly different.

I wouldn't advise taking your paperwork with you, it could easily get mislaid. I hope you have a lovely weekend, I love going to companion shows.
