when i say smelly i mean really smelly, our sprocker pup smells very strongly of urine, he has urine stains on his legs and belly as well as a few on his tail, its not that he is dirty or living in poor conditions, he lives in the house with the other dogs.
i bathed him on tuesday as he smelt terrible, vetbed is being washed daily (luckily i have plenty) garden and kitchen is disinfected daily. today (friday) we went along to a photo studio to have their photos taken, by the end of the hour all three dogs, the studio, photographer, my boss (came along to help as well as transporting me and the 3 musketeers) me, and my bosses car stank of urine, the house can be pretty much the same, at times it is bad, we have air freshners everywhere.
never owning a dog pup before i dont know if its normal or not, we think its possible that when he squats to go to the toilet that is how he is becoming smelly, our springer bitch was the same but we kept the feathering on her hind legs trimmed short and this solved the problem, obviously this wont work, also i cant bath him everyday, as it wont help his skin etc.
as soon as i can i will be getting him casturated as at 6mths he is highly sexed and mounting my lab, he has been doing this since he was 8weeks, my vet prefers to do casturation nearer 9mths because of the growth plates, will casturation work.
i would like to know if anyone else has encountered this problem before and if they have how did they deal with it?
please help the smell is too much which is saying something as i cant normally smell doggie odours as i work with dogs.

are you sure hes not leaking urine, some pups have faults in there plumbing, causing them to leak, if its as noticeable as you say, id have him checked out,

hi, i've this experience already, and vet said some pups cannot control urine when they get exited, but he also said this will come under control with the growth.

Hi I know that I e-mailed you as I was unable to post at the time but I would get his protein levels checked out. A friend of mine was bathing her dog every day because of the smell and it was only when she was tested that they found out that this was the problem.
