I have a 13 wk old bitch lab and one in the park fine but I have to nearly drag her there. Should I carry on dragging her as she is getting better

How long is the walk to the park? Perhaps it's a bit of a dull walk. I wouldn't pull her though, give her loads of puppy dog encourgement, I bet if you skipped for a couple of steps (obviously not with a rope - there's no time for embarasment with a puppy!) she'd follow. But do give some thought to how far away the park is - 13 week olds get tired walking on pavements far quicker than you'd imagine.

Hi

Do you live on a busy road? Is she afraid of the passing cars? Has she seen something on your walk to the park which seemed to spook her? My lab is now 16 weeks and sometimes doesn't want to leave the front doorstep - we think it's when he can see/smell our car as he absolutely hates car rides and thinks we're going to make him get in the car. Lots of coaxing but in a positive, happy, excited way - perhaps take along a favorite squeaky toy to coax her with might work, but try not to get appear too sympathetic as you may unconsciously re-enforce her fears and thus she may get the message that refusing to go out is the right thing to do because there really is something scary out there!!

Good luck. Labradors are lovely aren't they?
