Just put Ollie in crate - whining and barking, poor babe. I just wondered if he should have a light on...? He's just done a wee in the garden so it's obviously first night nerves for him as well as me! Will give him 30 mins or so...

Hi Sarah,
As long as he's had a wee and a poo, a warm, milky drink, and has, ideally, a ticking clock and a really warm snug cosy bed, he will fall asleep......eventually!
:)
When Libby was a pup, we did the same, ticking clock , warm bed, been out to to <the business> etc.To be honest; keeping a light on could well make things worse.

He hasn't done a poo since about 7pm, just did a wee last time. I'm typing very quietly because he's in the next room and has just gone quiet. He was getting a bit mental - growling etc. I am sleeping on sofa tonight. What milky drink - normal cows milk warmed up?
He's still quiet...

I've found goats milk good - but I have given cows milk with no problems :)

I always gave mine goats milk, and they had a clock in their bed wrapped in a blanket and a cuddly toy. I would try the night lights that you get for children as they are very dim and I have found them to work
