To be honest ..and it is only my personal take on it ...if you and your hubby like such different breeds , maybe you would be better off looking around further and maybe choosing a breed that you were both comfy with?

My husband and I had to do this ...he liked Sibes and I liked IW's ;)

Helen - I wouldn't assume your girl is going to be OK with a new pup. Bringing in any dog as a member of the household is very different to either their own or any pups they may come in contact with. Pup's grow up into adults and she's likely to see it as a threat - I'm guessing that's what happened with the GSD on Monday. It's not what you wan to hear - but your girl may be much better of staying on her own.

sorry :(

hi helen
this is my own opition, as my dog was attacked by one a few months ago, it just attacked for no reason, they did,nt even have a smell of each other,it just ran at him, it took his owner a while to get him off, my dog had a couple of bites on his neck and back, the owner was very sorry i'll try to find the site in the USA were owners are telling you not to leave these dogs with any other breed of dog, as they like any other dog may i add can attack for no reason, and having seen this ones jaws on my dog it something i would not like to see again

HI Helen

What type of AM Bull do you mean?. Is it the JD Johnson type. (bashed nose wide legs) or the scott or hines types as they are quite different animals for different purposes.

Regards Mick

Hi Helen

The JD Johnson is (in my opinion) the most suitable for a pet dog as it was bred for looks and show. The other varietys are working types. They are all very mellow dogs but they do descend from the old bear biter/bull baiter dogs that went to america with the settlers from britain/europe etc. Like all large mollosser breeds they are capable of being dangerous and should not be left alone with kids or other animals they are loyal companions and easily trained, but very intelligent and capable of thinking for themselves. None of the large mollosser breeds should be owned by inexperienced owners or people who may be intimidated by large breeds.
Do your homework on the breed find out as much as you can on the type you require. I dont have any sites I can direct you to but there must be plenty as it is a popular breed. They are also quite expensive.

Regards Mick
