i cant see that being a good thing -but a carrot to get the ones that cant qualify in competition to take the easy way around. so i imagine theres going to be a lot of poor specimans of most breeds at crufts that wouldnt of got there otherwise, im not saying all dogs that do open shows cant hold there own, but i have seen untypical dogs stood there with no competition take a bob , so these will now be going to crufts
i suppose its a touch like making a dog up in ireland, some will hold there own anywhere, others get made up beating very few, if any other dogs, the true champions should be able to compete in the ring in the uk too, if theyve won it just by plodding on, or beating even poorer dogs, what value has it and how can the owners feel theyve really acheived anything,
i sold a rott to ireland many years ago who got made up, of course many from the uk wondered if hed hold his own over here, im pleased to say he did, he came over and in strong competition took cc's in the uk,so to me a worthy champion, i suppose ts up to each what they feel they can acheive with a dog, but id like to think i could hold my own and qualify for crufts at a champshow,

you wont be thinking that when we dont get home unti the day after, as all those extra dogs in all those breeds will have to be judged and gone over in the same way as all the others, its going to make a huge difference,

, wonder how many best of breeds will miss the group next year then :(
