I have a 1yr old male rottweiler and he is constantly jumping over the fence in the back yard. Now I have to keep him on a chain all day while I am at work or at night. Being on a chain he can't play with my female rotty either. What should I do?

Maybe you could get a taller fence? Our fence is 6' tall and keeps our Malamute in okay

Also consider jackal fencing, at 45degrees on the top of the fence already there?

Please do not keep him on a chain in a fenced yard. I have heard of dogs jumping a fence while still on a chain and hanging themself :( The guilt u have after is very hard to deal with knowing u were at fault for what just happened and could of prevented it :( So please find another alternative like maybe a dog run whichj is fenced from top to bottom like a big cage, much safer in the long run :)

Please dont keep him chained up all day its not fair on him, there are ways around this as people have suggested.

This way with the dog run u could also have ur female in there (if u wish) and they can play together. When u are home and able to watch u can give him freedom of the yard. Just make sure he has shade and shelter in the dog run.

ttfn :)
