Hi all
Our 17 week old lab Oscar has had the runs quite a bit , he is not off his food but has so far got through 4 large bowls of water , is this normal because of the runs?
Hes a bit sleepier than usual but still seems to be his happy little self?
Thanks in advance

No that sounds excessive - even though you haven't stated how soon he has gone through the large bowls of water. If this is just going straight through him then he could still be dehydrating even though he is taking in large amounts of liquid. I'd be concerned about that. If he was mine I'd want the vet to check him out.

he this has been from this morning , (not all in one go) , he usually gets through a bowl / and a half but not this much.
If this is still the case tomorrow we will visit our vet!
Thanks for your reply

Do not be alarmed, but if his diarrhoea turns to what can best be described as 'raspberry jam' and/or he starts being sick, phone your vet straight away. Even if it does not, I would want a vet to check him over.

I think you should take him to a vet right away, certain things need to be eliminated urgently with a pup that age.
