In 4 weeks time we are basically moving into a building site.
Our house is no where near finished but we've got no choice the buyer of our old house needs to move into it
We had already decided to send Darcy to the dog sitter for a fortnight while we try and get the house sorted, because we'll have builders, electricians, carpenters there we'll really have no choice but to shut her in a room out of harms way

My dilema is though will she get used to having company during the day, and then hate it when she has to go back to her old routine.
Should I just send her to the sitters in the evening so that her routine is the same or let her enjoy her two weeks holiday

The sitter does say that the two of them (as she has a 7 month old lab as well) just ignore her completely and we are contemplating a rescue dog as soon as our house is finished so Darcy will have canine company during the day in the not tooo distant future.

Does any of that make sense?????????????

We have had builders in (just finished) for four months and we kept the girls here. It worked out well as all the builders were Lab lovers and owners so they got spoilt to death. They were kept out of the way when there were dangers etc but were allowed to 'help' if it was OK ! They spent more time playing with them than building sometimes, perhaps that is why it all overran ??:D

I wouldn't worry about letting Darcy go to her friends for a few weeks but she may get comfused if you are going to see her everyday and leave her there everytime ? I would leave her there for two weeks and look on it as she is on holiday and let her enjoy it as she has got her chum there and will proabably not have time to pine even though you will but two weeks will fly past ! :)

yeah the problem is though that we wont be there to supervise her and she really is a nightmare if you're working.

She'd be stealing tools and everything

Also we arent able to secure the garden at the moment becasue lorries are coming through it and we dont have enough walls in our house to stop her getting into the garedn
yes things are that bad!!!!

Think I will take your advice and just leave her there as if we're on holiday.
i know she'll love it
Will just see how she handles it after when we get to that stage
