Hey. I posted a message on the visitors board concerning my Weimaraner, Luna, with her separation anxiety problem. She seems to be responding to her Clomicalm treatment as she only starts howling after 10 minutes now whereas before it was 3 mins!!
I was wondering if anyone would have any suggestions on the idea of getting another dog, preferably a little boy. Luna is so infatuated with other dogs that it seems negligent not to pamper her wishes!
But what breed? She is a typical Weim-full of energy and everything she does is at 100 mph. She's extremely loving and a great companion but I think that she needs a calming influence to keep her in check. Maybe a smaller breed, maybe not?
A Lab maybe. I know that they can stay puppyish for a long time but they seem (on average) to have a sensible head on their shoulders?

Please give me your advise. Appreciate it.

Hi,

How old is your girl? If you feel she is ready for a friend and you have good control of her (ie. training) then maybe a friend would help and give her something else to think about, but beware.......puppies pick up bad habits VERY quickly!!! :D Be careful your pup doesn't also learn to bark and cry.

Definately go for a boy, labs and goldies are pretty good, but be careful as there seem to be some very nervous labs out there these days, maybe go for the working bred ones, they seem to have more stable temperaments.
