I am looking for a nice girlfriend for my Dog Alfie he is 4 years old and I would like to have him mated.

The reason for this is so I can continue his line and to also keep him company as he grows he is such a loving dog and I would like to have one just like his Dad.

Can anyone help me?

If you want one just like Alfie, go back to his breeder and buy another one!!!

Using him as a sire will not guarantee any of the pups turning out to be like their father, you have a 50% input from whichever bitch is used.

Plus your Alfie once used as a Stud will probably result in him not being the Alfie you have known and loved.

What breed is he? Has he passed all his breed-related hereditary health checks? Is he a good example of his breed (as shown by achievements either in the showring or working)?

Don't forget that the stud dog owner is as responsible for finding homes (and, if necessary, taking back any pups whose homes fail, at whatever age) for the resultant pups, and that being used at stud can change the dog's temperament permanently.

4 years old is also on the old side or him to have his first taste of honey - he might not have a clue what to do. A reputable bitch owner is not likely to mate him because you want a pup. Bitch owners choose a stud dog because he complement their girl's lines and will produce what they are looking for which maybe very different to what you are thinking. Also - if you are thinking - and you may not be - that you can have a puppy in return for a mating - it doesn't usually work that way now. Does in some breeds but only where the dog is an outstanding proven example of the breed.

Sorry to put a dampener on your hopes - but going back to his breeder is likely to be your best way. Or if you tell us what breed - we could recommend reputable breeders for you. You could then go and have a look at their puppies and dogs to see if you like them.
