Hi Everyone,

As I'm new to all this, can someone please explain what a Junior Warrant is and how it is awarded.

Thanks

If you use the search facility at the top the Junior Warrent has been discussed in full many times :-)

Monty's mum

Thanks it did help. I also managed to download the KC form which I shall start to fill in.

Do you think this is why I see lots of puppies entered into many different classes at shows, just to 'tot up' points? We only ever put our dog in one class - if he wins, great, he will go forward for BIS, if he wins one class and not the other he cannot go forward for BIS. I suppose people's agenda's are different!

Thanks anyway

Entering one class only seems to be a fairly modern phenomenon. In times past it was usual to enter more classes, probably as there was prize money.

If the judge likes your dog, then you will win all your classes. If you win your breed classes, you can always withdraw from other classes should you go BOB or Best Puppy.

I find it very boring entering only one class, and try to enter at least three at Open shows (usually breed clas, AV class in Group, and a stakes class if available) it gives the dog experience, and didfferent dogs to me3asure up against, after all only one dog can go Best in show.

My Champion bitch won her first RCC after winning junior and Poist Grad at an all breed champshow. The next week was out club show where I had put her in 5 classes! She won all five, and won The CC and RBIS.

At another earlier show we entered Junior and Post Grad. There wereonly 3 in Junior bitch and we were second. Now that would have been a so so result, but in the Post Grad class, against adult exhibits, she won a class of 11, so needless to say I was pleased, and also knew she would hold her own once in adult classes.

Sadly despite winning 33 points she did not get her Junior Wqarrant, as only had 6 classes at Open shows (at the time you had to win 10) with more than 3 in class. she had won more than 10 xlasses, despite foot and Mouth, but there were not that many young ones aout at that time at the open shows.
