a fellow dog friend has told me that there was an item on the radio last week re. vomiting and diarrhoea in dogs, supposedly a new gastro bug. does anyone have further info?

I have not heard about a new nasty bug, but my Cairn just got over gastritis that really did her in until she went on antibiotics last week. She vomited and was very lethargic and clearly unwell. The vet did not mention that he had seen a lot of recent cases of stomach problems.

Yes I heard about it on the radio, plus my friend has a stud dog that went down with it, plus her litter of 7 week old pups, obviously a very nasty virus :-(

it was rageing earlier in the year-a puppy i bred was just about dead with it, but baytril turned it around,

Perhaps this is the same bug that start off last winter. The entire litter my Cairn came out of came down with it. Brought back to the house by a couple of dogs that had been at a show.
