I has been decided by the government that the importation of fur products made from animals such as dog, cat, rabbit should not be banned but each item should carry a label describing it as 'domestic fur' if it the fur of a domestic animal. I feel this does not go far enough and will not prevent the fur products arriving in the country labelling or not. It does nothing to prohibit the importation of these fur products where cruelty of skinning dogs alive in countries such as China, Phillapines, Korea, Rumania and Bulgaria. I think we should have taken the same stance as Italy and the USA and banned the importation of these fur products and not allowed them on our shelves, full stop. It is such a feeble act on behalf of the Government, turning a blind eye to the cruelty involved. Giving the consumer the choice is not the answer, it does not prevent the act takingplace in the first place. I am once again incensed by this stupidity.
